For Jacob's tenth birthday, he just wanted to play football in the backyard. We took that idea and expanded it a little, setting up a tent and multiple different games outside. The party was from 6-9 pm but it was still SO hot! (I guess that's what you get when you have an August birthday.) We had a ready ice chest full of water and sodas, as well as a mister to keep the boys cool.
To go along with the tent theme, the kids roasted hot dogs and marshmallows over a fire.
Jacob received a ping pong set for his birthday so we set it up for everyone to play.
There were impromptu football and basketball games going on.
And ladderball, too.
Later, everyone came inside to eat and cool down.
Opening presents was so fun. Jacob can ALWAYS use a new football.
Finally, everyone settled in to watch "The Game Plan" and eat birthday cake (actually, mint brownies at Jacob's request). It was a fun evening. We are so proud of our ten-year-old! Happy Birthday to You.
