6th Grade Field Trip

I was one of the lucky moms who got to go on the 6th Grade field trip this year. I helped Noah's class at the Arizona Science Museum and had a fun day. They were all obsessed with spinning, though. In the Planetarium I had to close my eyes for the Space Rollercoaster! Noah had several turns on the gyroscope (is that what it's called, above?) and it almost made me sick just watching!

Reseeding

A couple of Saturdays ago Jeremy had the lawn ready for reseeding with winter grass, so he had the boys helping him. It's actually a pretty fun job and they enjoyed doing their yardwork.

LOL

One slow Sunday morning (rare around here) I told the boys they could play dress-up before church started. The results:

Eagle Project, Part II

For the next phase of his Eagle Project, Spencer invited the Young Men to our house to help finish painting the drums, cut the chimes, and seal items in the #10 cans. There were about 10 boys who came and they had fun working together on these projects. Brother Strong was a big help, bringing his trailer full of tools and offering advice and ideas for finishing the chimes. We served ice cream Drumsticks (appropriate, eh?) for thank-you treats. Next up, the big project: the PVC pipe instrument.

Music Marathon

Jacob participated in the annual DVMTA Music Marathon at the Fiesta Mall on September 26th. He worked so hard on learning his song, which was "I Hope They Call Me on a Mission." He did a great job!

The Joy of the Body

The last time I got to teach Joy School we explored the Joy of the Body. What a fun week!
When we had playtime outside we did lots of things with our bodies. McKenzee is swinging on the swings!
Kayla is mowing my lawn with the bubble blower mower.
Look at that energy! Casey shot lots of baskets in the hoop.
Porter climbed up into the "tree house".
Isaac H. and Isaac K. jumped and jumped on the trampoline.
Joseph rode the plasma car all around the backyard!
The whole crew. Note the "spiderman web shooting" going on!
We played a game called The Body Game that had many fun and different things we all could do with our bodies. Porter cracked me up! He was the only one who could touch his nose with his tongue!
Kenzee and Amber finished their puzzle of the body first. Way to go, girls!
We made cracker-veggie-cookie bodies to eat for our snack. Casey's is so cute!

Canyon Lake

Spencer and Jeremy went with the Young Men and Young Women to spend the day at Canyon Lake one Saturday last month. There were two boats out and they all took turns being pulled on the tubes. I was hoping Spencer would get a chance to try waterskiing again, but it didn't happen. I guess there's always next year!
