On day three we really got some Church History in! Bright and early that morning, Jeremy and I took Spencer and Noah to do baptisms for the dead at the newly-dedicated Kansas City Temple. We met some local Saints and realized what a blessing this temple is for their area.
We didn't get many photos of Papa who is usually BEHIND the camera!
Our next stop was Liberty Jail, where the prophet Joseph Smith was wrongly imprisoned during the winter of 1838-39. We were so pleasantly surprised to see our friends, the Marble family, in the visitor's center! We had just missed them at the temple.

Later that day we visited Far West, where the cornerstones for a temple were laid but the temple never constructed. The cornerstones are preserved beneath glass.
The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed our short visit there.
The site of Adam-ondi-Ahman. A supremely peaceful valley where we believe Adam gathered his posterity to leave a blessing upon them before his death.
We loved strolling along the trails and watching the wildlife and just feeling the peace.
Poor Nana was still recovering from surgery on her knee and all the boys were so eager to help her walk around.
Adam-ondi-Ahman is where the Savior will appear prior to his Second Coming and meet with Adam and his righteous posterity.
