Last Time (Ever) Teaching Joy School

I'm sort of sad. Last week was my last time, EVER, teaching Joy School. Part of me is relieved, part of me is melancholy. Isaac will attend preschool at Miss Cheri's this fall and so I'll never have the JOY of teaching Joy School again.

I got to teach numbers 1 & 2. I had each kid roll out some bread dough into a "snake" and then we formed "1's" and "2's" on a cookie sheet.

The dough sort of lost it's shape while it was baking, but it still tasted great!

We also learned the nursery rhyme "Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary." It was a tough one to teach the kids (contrary? cockleshells? little maids?)! The "how does your garden grow?" part was fun, though. We made cookie and gumdrop flowers for snack...

...and each of the kids planted a marigold seed in a little pot to take home so they can grow a flower like Mary. I'm glad I still get to go on the field trip next week, so I can gradually wean myself off of this Joy School thing!
