Noah stumbled on a great Eagle Leadership Service Project when we discovered the sad state of disrepair of the hymnbooks in the buildings throughout our stake. He obtained all the approval signatures he needed to begin his project, planned out the procedures, and invited his scout troop to help out.
On Eagle Project Day #1 he planned to do an inventory of the books in each building.
We were soon surprised at the high percentage of books that needed help, so Noah had to think on his feet and adjust his plans a little.
The worst books were boxed up and removed from the buildings for repair, with plans to return and fix up the other books in the near future.
We had planned to use the Church hymnbook repair kits but discovered that most of the books were not in need of that type of repair. We were blessed to find a Brother in our stake who met with us and showed us how to fix all of the books and we will be following his recommendations when we tackle the rest of Noah's project. Onward and upward!
