Canyon Lake

Hooray! School is out!

The day after school ended, we went with Nana and Papa and our friends the Heslops to Canyon Lake.

The boat we were going to borrow had something wrong with it, so we decided to go anyway.

The kids had so much fun swimming, digging, and exploring.

Isaac loved being in the water. We think he drank half the lake (yuck).

An impromptu stickball game superimposed on a frisbee game made for fun times!

"The Isaacs" sat at the picnic table for lunch. Aren't they adorable?

Good food. Good friends. Good shade. Good times!

The whole gang at the end of a fun day at the lake. We should really do this again sometime!

Super Papa

Nana and Papa came for a visit last week and had to leave for home today. We have loved having them here! Jacob and Isaac were so excited to have someone fun to play with. These photos are hysterical.

Happy Birthday Noah!

Noah turned 12 on May 22nd. He had a jam-packed day of fun! We started with his favorite puffy pancakes (with candles) for breakfast. And then something that was not so fun: a placement test at the Junior High, which he passed with flying colors! Then a swimming birthday party for a friend, a viewing of the final "Shrek" movie, and an evening of crab legs and calamari at the Oriental Buffet. Noah planned a fun day for the whole family. Thanks, Noah! We love you.

Graduation

Oh man. I love this kid.

Isaac and his 7 Joy School friends graduated last week. They've had such a good time this year. So cute.

It sure was a challenge keeping the mortarboards on top of their heads!

They were all so proud to show off everything they learned this year and receive a diploma. I'm so proud of my baby boy.

Straw Bridges

With Noah's enthusiasm for and natural abilities in engineering and construction, building and testing bridges was an obvious choice for the school science fair. He and Jeremy worked together building three bridges out of drinking straws and straight pins. They tested the strength of each one by seeing how many pennies each could hold without breaking. The results were clear: an arch was the most sturdy. Noah's display was wonderful and we were super pleased that he won a first place ribbon!
