Jump to Japan

The current exhibit at the children's art museum in Mesa is "Jump to Japan," a showcase of Japanese animation. One day while Spencer was at football I took the boys, who are all Yugioh and Pokemon fans, to check it out. They loved learning about the history of anime and experiencing other aspects of Japanese culture. Fun!

Flowrider

One of the things on our list of fun things to do this summer was the Flowrider, which is a special pool for surfing at one of the Junior Highs. Jacob and Noah had to go through the training they offered in order to ride. And it was worth it! Wow! The power of the water shooting uphill is amazing. The boys had many spectacular falls but got the hang of it pretty quickly. Watch the videos below. These are the ones where they actually stayed on the board!

American Gothic

The famous painting turned statue was a temporary installation on Mesa's Main Street this summer. We kept meaning to go but never made it until the morning they were coming to take it away. We drove there in a hurry on our way to swimming lessons, hopped out of the car real fast for the pictures, and were on our way!

Craigslist

Isaac has been wanting a big boy bed for so long now. I finally got up the courage to try out Craigslist and ended up with this awesome new bunkbed for Jacob and Isaac! They were so excited and since we had to give away so many toys to fit the bed in their room, they are able to keep it clean. Bonus for both me and them!
